I was born in 1987. Childhood was cool but not very musical. It all started with Nintendo 8bits and videogames ost like Final Fantasy VII. When italo disco music made its big comeback in early 2000 I was around 13 and at that point music, to me, was just painful. Then pictures of classical instruments in school books began drawing my attention. I got into classical music from 1600 to 1900 and felt relief. At 15 on a late summer night a private channel started broadcasting every night old Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman and those 1930’s big orchestra footage and I felt like rescued. I bought a clarinet and took lessons. Then Motown and the 60’s followed. No one until then had told me I could sing too. I bought my first guitar at 16 but it gathered dust until I was 17. I started bass guitar lessons. It is still my first instrument. Then punk rock came along, but Miles would always be there. Radiohead dragged me away from power chords and I started saving money for pedals. Then the golden era of music blogs, MySpace and Last Fm hit the world and I dived into the unknown depths of independent music. New Wave was everything. A post-everything phase began. I was broke because of pedals, synths and junk street food. Longer than life post-rock records broke into my life. Somehow I made it through. From late 2009 to 2011 I played from slow-depressing-only-minor-chords songs to math-rock to aggressive AF electro-clash. In late 2011 I moved to New York where I lived for 2 years. I changed my clothes and the faces I used to wear. I went back to Cole Porter, The Beatles and J. Dilla. Ellis Cloud was born. I wrote the songs featured on “Born in The 20’s” and when the NY days were over I entered the studio with Gabriele, my producer.
